Add note (but not to specific expense)

I would like to be able to add a note that I can update, or to be able to link to an Apple notes note so that I can update there. I want to be able to tell myself for example when I am doing taxes at end of year ‘check company X’ for example. So the note isn’t tied to one specific expense and I can add more to it later on.
