Currently receipts are exported as JPGs.
The benefit of using PDFs instead would be
you could standardize on PDFs for everything instead of supporting jpg&pdf
pdf can be full text searchable for further user processing
you could even embed the extracted receipts metadata into the pdf for user document search
pdf viewer components already exist and can be reused so users get zoom/paging etc
accountants expect PDF receipts more then JPG receipts
keeping receipts as PDF is standard so users don’t get surprised and disappointed that Spark uses JPGs
