Breakdown the receipt into individual items

You can now split receipts into multiple line items and define the subtotals, totals, and taxes separately for each line. We are still building the feature but the basic functionality is live.

Here’s a quick walkthrough how the feature works right now and where you can find it:

1. Upload or open an existing document. Click the “Lines” tab. In the line item editor, you can add, remove and edit line items.

2. If you want to edit values based on totals, click the Total column (if it is not already active). This will update the subtotal based on total and taxes. In this mode, subtotal cannot be edited directly.

   

3. If you want to edit values based on subtotals, click the Subtotal column (if it is not already active). This will update the total based on subtotal and taxes. In this mode, total cannot be edited directly.
   

4. To add a new line item, click the Insert new line button. Each line item has a category, item type, taxes, subtotal and total. For this example, I added the line items manually.

   

5. It’s also possible to define multiple tax rates for each line (e.g. Canada has dual tax). Just click the … button at the end of the row to split the tax line.
